Web 3.0, is an upcoming version of the network that will have decentralised platforms that give individuals greater power over their own information and interactions. Blockchain technology has allowed for the development of user-centric, secure, and transparent decentralised social networks and communities. This article will discuss the significance of communities and social networks in Web 3.0, how they are paving the way for the development of decentralised communities and networks, and how this may affect our use of social media and other forms of online communication.
